Jonathan's love of ballooning began during his childhood in New Mexico. In 1993, he had the inspiration
to tiedye a balloon. After studying with some of the world's most experienced balloon builders, he dyed
and built his first balloon, Julia Dream, in 1995 and his second, Gloria Caeli, in 2001. With the goal of
filling the sky with commercially available artworks, he spent several years working with major balloon
manufacturers to certify the technology. In 2003, he created his third flying artwork, built by Aerostar,
and the first to be commercially produced. 2004/2005 marked the creation of "Lucy," his fourth
flying artwork, and the first to be produced by Lindstrand USA.
