The Process

Using a standard commercial envelope pattern, SkyDyes! works with the client to produce a one-of-a-kind artistic design. Every art balloon is guaranteed unique - we will never reproduce a design.

How? Following the co-creative design process between the client and Jonathan Wolfe, the manufacturer of choice will supply SkyDyes! with precut white panels, which will be dyed and returned to the factory for assembly into a balloon. The manufacturer will provide the basket, fuel system, instruments, etc. to deliver a FAA certified aircraft.

How much? The prices shown are for a 24 gore, 90,000 cf balloon, and reflect the cost of the art only, and do not include the retail system cost for the un-dyed balloon envelope. Some options or special offers may also affect this price, and thus the total price of the finished artwork.

How Long? After receiving a 35% down payment, SkyDyes! will obtain the fabric from the manufacturer and begin the dyeing process. Depending on the design, this could take 3-6 weeks. The panels will then be assembled into the balloon envelope by the manufacturer, which could take another 4-6 weeks, meaning the entire process should be complete in 12 weeks or less.
